DISCUSS THESE WITH YOUR TEAMMATES:

1. What are qualities that each of these young players share?

2.  In what ways are they unlike or like you as a young player?

3.  What goals do you have in the next three weeks? Three months? Three years?

Every continent has a soccer team called "Rangers."  The name is extremely popular in Britain.  Teams like the Queens Park Rangers in England, and Rangers FC from Glasgow, Scotland.

PROGRAM EXPECTATIONS

Each year at LPHS is different depending on the quality of student-athletes that come to us, but in general we open our trial period to assign players to teams when practice opens August 6, 2018 .

Team assignments will be made prior to our first scrimmages.

We consider what we've seen during training camps as well as those first few days.

WE EXPECT ALL PLAYERS TO BE AT EVERY TRAINING SESSION FROM AUGUST TO NOVEMBER.  Unexcused absences result in loss of playing time or removal from the program.

OUTSIDE COMPETITION (I.D. CAMPS, CLINICS, OR ODP) MUST BE APPROVED BY THE PRINCIPAL, AS WELL AS THE COACH.

We  run three teams. It's common to have a player start for one team and sit the bench of another.

We swing players from one level to the next so long as they don't play more than the maximum number of halves that CHSAA allows.

Each team trains daily at 3:10pm to 5pm (Ending time varies from day to day)

Players play for the team that they are assigned to for a given match. If they are given gear to use for that level, they must return it (washed) for the next player to use.

Academics are our priority at LP; no grades, no soccer.  Player grades are checked each week.

In the event a player cannot attend training for some reason, they are to speak to a coach, especially when making up a test or an assignment.  THIS IS A PLAYER'S RESPONSIBILITY.

In the event of an injury, our players abide by the requirements of our trainer.  He is responsible for your pathway back to the pitch - he is your starting point after an injury and before you are approved to resume playing.

PLAYING TIME IS EARNED - NOT GUARANTEED

We run three teams to provide ample playing time at the right level for each player.
